Letter from the Chief
I would like to welcome you to the website of the Waller Police Department. We are a municipal agency that serves a population of approximately 2,100 citizens. The city is located along the Highway 290 corridor and is approximately 30 miles northwest of Houston. City of Waller is divided by Harris and Waller Counties. Our work force consists of seven full-time sworn officers, four part-time sworn officers, and one civilian employee.
The mission of the Waller Police Department is to provide service to the citizens and visitors of the City of Waller by working in partnership with the community to:
Protect life, liberty, and property
Prevent crime
Preserve civil order by enforcing the statutes of the United States of America, the State of Texas, Harris and Waller Counties, and City of Waller’s ordinances
Provide assistance and service through education, information, and referrals
I am committed to building a relationship between the community and the police, whether taking into consideration the Homeland Security issues of our entire nation or own local problems
As the community and the police department work together in being observant in our neighborhood and staying active in our children’s lives as they go through school, we can make our community a safer and better place to live.
Thank you for viewing the police department web site, and please feel free to call or stop by, whether it’s to ask a question, if you have a problem, or just to visit.
James B. Fulton
Chief of Police

COMMUNITY FOCUSED PROGRAMS
FORMING YOUR OWN NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH
The police department cannot fight crime and disorder
alone. It requires a partnership between the community and the police
department. Only by working together can we make our community a
safe place for ourselves and our children. Remember, the Waller
Police Department has only 11+ sets of eyes and ears. The City of
Waller has over 2,100 sets of eyes and ears.
While the City of Waller is a safe community that is ideal for
families, no community can be completely free of crime. As our community
grows, volunteer crime watch associations bring neighbors together
in a unified effort to fight existing crime and disorder. They also
help to prevent crime from coming into our neighborhoods.
A neighborhood watch involves ...

|
Becoming acquainted with your neighbors. |

|
Working together to solve problems in your neighborhood.
|

|
Helping the police by being aware of and reporting any
unusual activities as they occur. You know best what is "normal"
activity in your neighborhood. |

|
Learning to prevent and detect crime in your neighborhood
and taking the necessary steps to make it safer (i.e. utilizing
locks, alarms, lighting, etc.) |

|
Reporting suspicious persons. DO NOT attempt to apprehend
suspects, leave that for the police. |

|
Looking out for your neighbors. |
If you are interested in joining or forming a crime watch, please
feel free to discuss it with our Police Chief Robert Fulton or one
of our patrol officers. They will be pleased to assist you.
YOU could be the one to make a difference in your neighborhood.
